We are looking for a Project Manager in Automation to take charge of the realization of automation and industrial control projects, from the definition of needs to commissioning at the customer's site.
The person holding the position acts as the main point of coordination between the customer, the engineering and automation team, suppliers, subcontractors, and installation teams. They ensure that projects are carried out in accordance with technical requirements, schedules, budgets, and the company's quality standards.
The position combines project management, technical knowledge in automation, coordination, and customer relations.
Main ResponsibilitiesProject Management-
Take charge of automation projects from order to final delivery.

Analyze the customer's needs and clearly define the scope of work.

Participate in the development of technical solutions.

Prepare and maintain project schedules.

Plan the resources needed to carry out the projects.

Monitor project budgets, engineering hours, purchases, and costs.

Identify risks, challenges, and changes that may impact costs or schedules.

Document and manage change requests and additional work.
-
Ensure regular follow-up of progress with the customer.
Automation and Control
-
Participate in defining the architecture of control systems.
-
Select suitable automation and instrumentation equipment.
-
Participate in preparing and revising electrical drawings and control diagrams.
-
Perform programming of programmable logic controllers (PLC) and/or participate in the development, modification, and optimization of automation programs.

Participate in the development and programming of operator interfaces HMI and SCADA systems.
-
Participate in the integration of industrial networks and communication between equipment.
-
Develop, revise, and validate operating sequences and functional descriptions.
-
Perform tests and troubleshooting of PLC/HMI programs.
-
Participate in factory tests and acceptance tests (FAT).
-
Supervise or participate in start-ups and commissioning at customer sites.
-
Perform, when required, programming modifications and adjustments directly on production equipment.
Technical Coordination

Collaborate with programmers, technicians, electrical designers, and control panel assemblers.

Coordinate activities with electrical contractors and other external stakeholders.
-
Monitor purchases and critical equipment.
-
Verify drawings, material lists, and technical documents before they are issued.

Ensure that the selected equipment meets the client's specifications and applicable standards.

Participate in resolving technical issues encountered during manufacturing, installation, and commissioning.
Client Relationship

Act as the primary client contact during project execution.

Organize and participate in project meetings.

Clearly communicate the project's progress, challenges, and required decisions.

Advise the client on automation and control solutions.

Maintain a professional and lasting relationship with clients.

Identify, when relevant, opportunities for improvement or future projects.
Documentation and Project Closure

Ensure that the final documentation is complete and compliant.

Coordinate the preparation of "as-built" drawings.

Ensure the delivery of PLC/HMI programs, manuals, and other required documents.

Perform the administrative and financial closure of the project.

Participate in post-project review meetings to improve work methods.
-
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, automation, instrumentation and control, automated production engineering, or any other relevant training.

A combination of equivalent education and experience may be considered.
Experience

Relevant experience in automation or industrial control.

Experience in managing or coordinating technical projects is a significant asset.

Experience in designing, programming, or commissioning automated systems is an asset.
Technical Knowledge Sought
A good understanding of several of the following technologies is desired:

Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), particularly Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation.
