You will be able to demonstrate your in-depth understanding of data center design, engineering, and operation of common infrastructure to data centers, telecommunications facilities, and other critical environment infrastructures.
You will work directly with internal business teams and colocation vendors to identify, document, and resolve any operational/design gaps that could impact a site's capacity or availability.
You will have the opportunity to influence data center product standards, create and improve processes, and guide our global portfolio of colocation data centers. If you are a solid leader with extensive experience in mechanical, electrical, structural, and plumbing engineering of data centers, Amazon will offer you a dynamic, fun, and exciting work environment, unique in every way, and an exceptionally rewarding opportunity.
You will be responsible for the following:
Leading site assessments according to AWS standards for colocation data centers, existing facility upgrades, and general capital efforts.

Influencing AWS design and technical requirements to meet our business needs for AWS colocation products.
Researching and documenting root cause analysis of infrastructure and equipment failures.
Working with vendors and local authorities having jurisdiction to ensure compliance with requirements and codes at the federal, provincial, and municipal levels.
Collaborating with engineering, operations, and commissioning teams to properly test and validate the installation, operation, and performance of critical electrical, mechanical, structural, fire suppression, and control systems.
Supporting operations teams, data specialists, and other business partners to establish utilization, efficiency, and performance analyses of critical systems.
You will be required to travel to data center sites (up to 50% of the time in national and international travel).
