Ashini Consultants is looking for a Civil Engineering Discipline Lead to act as a technical and functional reference within their discipline. The person will ensure technical leadership, quality of deliverables, professional supervision of teams, and development of practices in their specialty.

Through their expertise and influence, they will contribute to the completion of complex projects, the development of internal skills, the continuous improvement of working methods, and the promotion of Ashini Consultants to clients and partners.

Location of the position: Chicoutimi, Quebec or 100% telecommuting.

Remuneration and benefits

Annual salary starting from $ depending on experience

Job responsibilities

1. Technical leadership and professional supervision

  • Act as a technical reference for professionals, CPI, technicians, and drafters in their discipline (between 2 and 4 people);
  • Support teams in resolving complex technical issues;
  • Supervise and review technical deliverables to ensure compliance with standards, codes, quality standards, and best practices;
  • Contribute to the development of technical skills of team members through mentoring, knowledge transfer, and professional support;
  • Participate in the technical integration and progression of resources in their discipline;
  • Identify training needs and contribute to the development of internal expertise.
2. Technical coordination and project quality
  • Ensure technical consistency of projects carried out in their discipline;
  • Carry out design activities and contribute to the technical direction of projects in their discipline;
  • Collaborate with project managers to establish technical priorities, resource needs, and implementation strategies;
  • Plan and monitor technical activities in their discipline based on priorities, schedules, and available resources;
  • Contribute to the identification, analysis, and management of technical risks;
  • Participate in design reviews, quality control, and technical validation;
  • Ensure the management and collaboration of technical partners involved in projects to promote consistency, quality, and smooth execution of mandates.
3. Development and improvement of practices
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of standards, methods, tools, and work processes in the discipline;
  • Participate in the development and standardization of technical and documentary practices;
  • Support the implementation and optimization of technological tools and work methodologies;
  • Ensure technical monitoring of standards, technologies, regulations, and best practices applicable to their discipline;
  • Contribute to the maintenance and evolution of the company's quality processes.
4. Contribution to strategic mandates and practice visibility
  • Participate in the preparation of service offers and the evaluation of technical needs of mandates;
  • Contribute to professional relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders; Support management in the development and strategic positioning of the discipline;
  • Participate in the technical visibility of Ashini Consultants in its area of expertise.
5. Advisory role, quality, and continuous improvement
  • Act as a consultant-partner for clients and contribute to the smooth running of projects by promoting adapted, sustainable, and mandate-aligned solutions;
  • Contribute actively to the continuous improvement of the company's practices, tools, and processes;
  • Participate in the application and maintenance of quality standards and processes related to the integrated management system and the company's ISO requirements.
6. Professional development
  • Maintain skills up to date in relation to laws, codes, standards, and best practices applicable;
  • Participate in annual evaluations and the development of a professional development plan;
  • Contribute actively to knowledge sharing within the company.

Profile sought

  • Relevant university education in the discipline;
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec;
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering;
  • Experience in technical coordination or expertise role;
  • Experience in consulting engineering or a similar professional environment (important asset).
