Employer Description

La Société du parc industriel et portuaire de Bécancour (SPIPB) plays a key role in the economic development of Québec. It plans, develops and administers one of the most important industrial parks in the province, hosting major industrial projects in strategic sectors of tomorrow.
In order to support its investments and the realization of its strategic projects, SPIPB is currently looking for a project manager - Project Office.

Job Description

Reporting to the project management department, the person holding the position contributes to the planning, coordination and monitoring of development, modernization and major refurbishment initiatives for the infrastructure of the Bécancour industrial and port park.
In a context of major investments, they participate in the realization of strategic projects by ensuring rigorous management of the different stages, stakeholders and deliverables, for the benefit of SPIPB, its partners and investors.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the analysis of needs, define project orientations and develop innovative implementation strategies;
  • Establish the scope, objectives and performance indicators of projects;
  • Estimate the costs of professional services and prepare associated schedules;
  • Ensure rigorous monitoring of project progress, budgets, schedules, deliverables and issues, and propose required adjustments;
  • Prepare call for tender documents and supervise the contract award process according to the Society's rules;
  • Evaluate proposals, recommend contracts and manage relationships with suppliers;
  • Ensure contract monitoring and administration in accordance with clauses and internal processes;
  • Collaborate with internal departments and park businesses to ensure good coordination of activities during construction phases;
  • Identify and manage risks throughout the projects;
  • Ensure deliverable compliance with project expectations and needs and those of the Society;
  • Produce required monitoring reports and ensure good project file management;
  • Foster effective collaboration and communication with various stakeholders and SPIPB partners, including potential investors;
  • Perform any other related task.
This is a mandate with an approximate duration of 5 years.

Profile Sought

You hold a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction engineering or a relevant discipline. Any combination of education and experience deemed equivalent may also be considered.
A PMP certification or equivalent training is an asset, as is being a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec or CPI.
You also have a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in infrastructure and construction project management. Experience in the public or parapublic sector is an asset.

  • Experience in project management, from design to construction and commissioning of facilities;
  • Rigor, autonomy and sense of organization in monitoring deliverables, schedules and budgets;
  • Good communication skills and ease of collaboration with multiple stakeholders;
  • Ability to analyze, synthesize and solve problems;
  • Mastery of Office suite tools, particularly Excel;
  • Judgment in sharing and disclosing sensitive or confidential information;
  • Sensitivity to health and safety at work as well as respect for internal processes.
