The specialized school Saint-Jude, which welcomes students with a hearing deficiency, is looking for a speech-language pathologist to fill a replacement contract at a rate of 4 days per week for the period from January to June 2027.

Your role

The speech-language pathologist is responsible for preventing, detecting and assessing students who present or are likely to present language and communication disorders. They must also determine and implement a treatment and intervention plan, with the aim of developing, restoring or maintaining the student's communication skills in interaction with their environment and facilitating their academic progress.

Your responsibilities

  • Intervene with students who have common difficulties or specific problems in order to facilitate their learning and academic integration
  • Work in an interdisciplinary manner to support students
  • Advise and support teaching staff and explain the nature of the student's communication difficulties so that they can adapt their teaching and the educational materials used
  • Collaborate in the development and adaptation of educational materials
  • Support and equip family members and other school stakeholders
  • Plan, organize and lead training activities
  • Write assessments and make recommendations to document the student's needs and support their academic success

Your qualifications and experience

  • Be a member of the Ordre des orthophonistes et audiologistes du Québec
  • Know the spoken language complement (LPC) or be open to learning it (training provided by the environment if necessary)
  • Have experience in a school setting (an asset)
  • Hold a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle, as a deafness itinerant service is provided in several schools of the CSS
  • Pass a written French test (essay)

Your remuneration

Hourly rate between $31.51 and $57.81, depending on your education and experience

Note: An additional remuneration of 2.5% is also granted to professionals holding a position for which a master's degree is required after a one-year stay at the maximum level of the pay scale.
