Light Vehicle and Van Mechanic

Your tasks

• Perform preventive maintenance and mechanical repairs on pickup trucks and light vehicles in the fleet;
• Carry out mechanical inspections and identify problems requiring intervention;
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic failures using the appropriate diagnostic tools and equipment;
• Perform repairs on braking, steering, suspension and transmission systems;
• Carry out maintenance and repair work on engines, cooling systems, exhaust systems and fuel supply systems;
• Perform oil and filter changes, fluid changes and other routine maintenance work;
• Perform repairs and maintenance on the electrical and electronic systems of vehicles;
• Check and carry out necessary repairs on air conditioning and heating systems;
• Perform safety inspections and ensure vehicles are in good working order before they are returned to service;
• Identify parts needed for repairs and collaborate in managing parts and supplies inventory;
• Perform the road tests necessary to validate the quality of the repairs carried out;
• Report any anomaly or issue that may affect the safety, reliability or availability of vehicles;
• Work in collaboration with the fleet manager and the various departments to meet operational needs;
• Keep your workspace clean, safe and organized;
• Comply with health and safety procedures as well as company standards and policies;
• Perform any other related task connected with the maintenance and repair of fleet vehicles.

Training and qualifications

• Hold a diploma of vocational studies (D.E.P.) in automobile mechanics;
• Possess a valid class 5 driver's licence (mandatory);

Experience

• Have at least 5 years of experience in light vehicle mechanics;
• Knowledge of Ford products (an asset)
