Barista (latte art required) - Maison Baultberri Café Bistro

Maison Baultberri is the café-bistro of Laurent Dagenais at BERRI-UQAM in the Empire store of the former Archambault: a café where you can eat well with a gourmet menu composed of sandwiches, salads, soups, and coffee.

We are only looking for candidates with prior experience as a barista.

Your main responsibilities as a barista

Beverage preparation

• Prepare espresso coffees, cappuccinos, lattes, and other beverages
• Mastered latte art (required)
• Use an espresso machine and a coffee grinder
• Master the dosage, temperature, and texture of milk

Customer service

• Welcome customers and take orders
• Advise on beverages and products
• Serve quickly and with courtesy

Maintenance and cleanliness

• Clean the coffee machine and equipment
• Maintain the counter and room clean
• Respect hygiene standards

Cash handling

• Operate the cash register
• Manage payments

• Speed of execution and sense of organization
• Excellent customer service and good interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure (peak hours)
• Resistance to stress (peak hours)
• Good communication in French and English, in order to interact effectively with a varied clientele
