Desjardins et Fontaine ltée (EDF) is a company that designs and manufactures attachments for heavy machinery such as loaders, graders, tractors and heavy trucks.
Founded in 1978, our company focuses its activities in the sectors of excavation, demolition, snow removal and material handling.
EDF is now looking for a welder for its plant located in Ste-Julie.
Under the supervision of the production foreman, you will be required to weld or fabricate mechanical parts using a variety of tools in order to build equipment for heavy machinery.
A salary that recognizes your experience: Starting at $28/h
Role and responsibilities specific to the position
- Weld steel components according to plans.
- Read and interpret plans to ensure precise, quality work.
- Perform MIG welding
- Perform cleaning, masking removal and degreasing as needed
- Perform torch cutting
- Carry out quality checks to ensure the product meets quality standards
- Rework and/or repair equipment and assembled products according to changes in technical specifications
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace
- Ensure and maintain product inventory at workstations
- Comply with occupational health and safety standards.

Requirements
- DEP in welding and/or assembly or relevant experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of welding experience.
- Proficiency in arc-air gouging.
- CWB-AWS certification (an asset).
- Basic reading skills, must be able to follow instructions.
- Ability to perform work precisely and thoroughly.
- Great attention to detail.
