We are looking for a Data Governance and Quality Specialist (Data Steward) who will contribute to building solid and sustainable governance practices and making data a reliable, understandable, and reusable asset across the organization.
Role Summary In this role, you will transform data governance principles into concrete and applicable practices: quality standards, ontology and semantics, usage rules, classification, traceability, and control mechanisms.
You will act as a functional reference for the meaning, quality, and use of data, in collaboration with teams such as Data Ops, Architecture, Platform, Security, Product, and UX.
Your goal: to ensure that data is reliable, understandable, discoverable, reusable, and adapted to the needs of AI, products, and operations.

What You Will Do
- Establish and evolve data governance standards, particularly in terms of semantics, accountability, classification, quality, traceability, and usage rules.
- Define the contexts of use, interpretation rules, and reliability criteria for data, metrics, attributes, and key concepts.
- Act as a functional authority on data and domain ontology to clarify their meaning, resolve ambiguities, and prevent divergent interpretations.
- Guide decisions related to data catalogs, data contracts, metadata, quality, lineage, observability, validation, and documentation, without being responsible for their technical implementation.
- Closely collaborate with Data Ops, Architecture, Platform, and Security teams to ensure that tools, structures, and pipelines support data governance, auditability, scalability, and reuse.
- Define quality and compliance expectations for data used in analytics, artificial intelligence, products, and operational decision-making.
- Identify risks related to data quality, governance, interpretation, or use and recommend corrective actions and improvement priorities.
- Lead governance discussions and promote alignment between different stakeholders.
What We Are Looking For
- University degree in information management, computer science, data science, or a related field; a combination of equivalent education and experience will also be considered.
- Significant experience in data governance, metadata management, data quality or data stewardship in an enterprise environment.
- Good understanding of ontology, data catalogs, data contracts, data lineage and data classification concepts.
- Ability to transform governance principles into clear, concrete and applicable rules.
- Ability to analyze and arbitrate functional ambiguities with rigor and judgment.
- Excellent communication, collaboration and facilitation skills with technical and functional stakeholders.
- Ability to influence and create alignment in a multidisciplinary environment.
- French-English bilingualism, both written and spoken.
Assets
- Experience with cataloging, metadata management or governance tools such as DataHub, OpenMetadata, Apache Atlas or similar solutions.
- Basic knowledge of versioning systems, including Git.
- Basic knowledge of programming or scripting (Python, Bash, Java, or similar).
- Understanding of data compliance and security issues, including classification, confidentiality and auditing.
- Experience in a technological or industrial product environment; experience in telecommunications or networking is an asset.
- Understanding of artificial intelligence issues and their implications on data quality, traceability and governance.

What We're Looking For
