Your Mission
Reporting to the Deputy Director - Operations and Prevention, the incumbent is responsible for managing all activities related to emergency interventions. To do this, they plan, coordinate, and direct the activities under their responsibility, taking into account the human, material, real estate, and informational resources under their responsibility. They ensure proactive management of the strategic plan and the implementation plan for overall risk management. They evaluate and analyze the needs of their division, particularly in terms of operational objectives related to the risk coverage scheme.
The Division Chief - Intervention mobilizes the teams under their authority and supervises the work of the operations chiefs, at all times and on the intervention sites where they will be responsible for the smooth running of operations and the application of current directives. They distribute and delegate the realization of projects, programs, mandates, and activities. They are involved in various service projects and contribute to the development of control and measurement tools and performance monitoring. They perform rotating on-call periods.
As a member of the staff, they contribute to the development and implementation of the service vision, in line with the organizational values, including visionary leadership and commitment. They act as a responsible person during major rescue interventions. They develop and maintain effective collaborative relationships with all service actors, as well as with the City of Gatineau's internal and external partners. They report to their superior on the activities of their sector and are accountable for the results obtained.

Profile Sought
- Hold an Officer II certificate, in accordance with the Fire Safety Act.
- Have five (5) years of experience in management positions, including one (1) year full-time as an operations chief in a unionized environment; any combination of education and experience deemed relevant will be considered.
- Have training in administration or any other relevant field (an asset).
- Ability to lead personnel with confidence during major rescue operations.
- Hold a valid class 4A driver's license (or equivalent).
- Meet the medical condition verification and security screening requirements.

According to the Fire Chiefs' salary scale 157 253 $.
