Job Description SummaryAs a Lead Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning and executing contracts, from the transfer meeting to managing the Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) of the entire execution process. You will have to ensure delivery within the deadlines in accordance with contractual clauses, ensure a high level of customer satisfaction, and control and optimize the gross margin and cash flow related to contracts. We are committed to providing high-quality customized substation equipment to our utility customers in North America.
As a Lead Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning and executing contracts starting from transfer meeting to managing the Quality, Cost, and Delivery of the entire execution process by ensuring on time delivery according to contractual terms, high level of customer satisfaction and controlling and improving the Gross Margin and cash related to contracts. We are committed to delivering high quality customized substation equipment to our Utility Customers in North America.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

To Perform:

  • The customer order and compare it with the GE quote when transferring the project file from the commercial group to project management.
  • Invoicing according to the terms of the contract
  • Administrative closure of the project.

To Lead:

  • The launch of the project with all internal contributors and assignment of roles and responsibilities.
  • The launch with the customer to communicate the nature of the work to be performed and clarify any issues with the order.
  • Project follow-up meetings (internal and external), including production follow-up meetings.
  • All project-related activities (procurement, logistics, customs, finance).
  • Ensuring project expense tracking compared to the budget (cost, materials, labor) and the GE purchasing department regarding supplier deliveries.
  • Regularly informing the customer of the project's progress.
  • Producing the post-mortem analysis report of the project.
  • Responsible for issuing change orders and improving project management processes: project preparation and follow-up, service contracts, etc.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management or Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Project Management.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 15% of the time to the USA
  • Fluent in both French and English (oral and written). ( )
  • Microsoft Office suite mastery
  • SAP knowledge
  • Experience in the high-voltage transmission market is an asset
  • Agreeing to undergo a pre-employment check, including references and background checks.
  • Being eligible to work in Canada.
  • ( ) The function requires communicating with colleagues, suppliers, and customers internationally, so French/English bilingualism is mandatory.

Essential Responsibilities:

Perform:

  • Customer order review and compare with the GE quote upon transfer of the project file from the Commercial group to Project management.

Lead:

  • Project kick-off meeting with all internal contributors and assign roles and responsibilities.
  • Customer kick-off meeting to communicate the nature of the work that will be done and clarify any issues in the order.
  • Draft project follow-up meeting summaries (internal and external)
  • Coordinate all activities related to the project (procurement, logistics, customs, finance )
  • Follow project spend vs budget (cost, materials, labor) & GE procurement department on supplier deliveries
  • Communicate and inform the customer of project progress on a regular basis.
  • Produce the project Post-Mortem analysis report
  • Responsible to issue the variation orders & to improve the project management processes: project preparation, Service contracts, etc.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Project Management or Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant Project Management experience.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 15% of the time
  • Perfectly Bilingual (English/French) spoken & written
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • SAP Knowledge
  • Experience in the high voltage transmission market
  • Comply with pre-employment screening, including verification and background check.
  • Eligible to work in Canada
