Responsibilities :

Here, it's not about engine or transmission mechanics. You will work on specialized equipment for fire trucks, in an environment where each intervention requires versatility, resourcefulness, and a good ability to learn.
The field is constantly evolving: new equipment, new technologies, new suppliers, and new work methods. Continuous training is therefore an integral part of the position.

Your main responsibilities
-Perform preventive inspections on fire trucks;
-Perform general and specialized mechanical repairs on different systems and equipment;
-Intervene particularly on chassis, electrical systems, air systems, pumping systems, ladders, foam systems, and hydraulic systems;
-Perform welding work, cut steel, and participate in compartment layout;
-Diagnose problems and use different instruments to identify the causes of failures;
-Estimate the parts and time required to perform repairs;
-Document the work done and record the hours worked in the computer system;
-Complete compliance reports according to the equipment inspected;
-Advise clients to promote optimal and safe use of their equipment;
-Perform inspections and repairs directly at clients' premises, as needed;
-Strictly respect health and safety standards and principles at work;
-Benefit from the support of a team during travel, as needed.

Requirements

We are looking for a resourceful, autonomous, and curious person who likes to understand how things work and who really wants to learn,

The ideal candidate has:
-Solid experience in mechanics, ideally 8 to 10 years;
-A Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in heavy road vehicle mechanics, construction equipment, agricultural machinery, or a related field;
-In the absence of a DEP, relevant and continuous experience of at least 10 years in mechanics;
-Good skills in diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical problems;
-Good manual dexterity and excellent coordination;
-A good sense of observation and analysis;
-Ease with computer systems and the ability to learn to use new systems and technologies;
-Excellent learning ability and openness to new technologies;
-A good sense of organization, responsibility, and autonomy;
-Professionalism, courtesy, and excellent customer service skills;
-Good physical condition to handle parts and equipment that can weigh up to approximately 75 lb;
-A valid driver's license. Having a Class 3 or 4A license is an asset, with the possibility of obtaining it within the first six months;
-Good mastery of French. Functional English is an asset for exchanges with certain clients and suppliers.

Schedule: 7:30 am to 5:00 pm: MONDAY TO THURSDAY / 8:00 am to 12:00 pm FRIDAY
