Job summary :
Under the supervision of the head chef, the sous-chef participates in the planning, organization and supervision of the kitchen's daily operations. He ensures the quality of products, compliance with health and safety standards, and the proper functioning of the team.
Key responsibilities :
- Assist the head chef in managing culinary operations.
- Supervise, guide and support team members.
- Plan and distribute tasks according to operational needs.
- Ensure the quality, presentation and consistency of the dishes served.
- Control food preparation, cooking and storage methods.
- Ensure compliance with hygiene, health and safety standards.
- Participate in inventory management, ordering and product rotation.
- Train new employees and ensure their integration.
- Replace the head chef in their absence.
- Participate in setup, service and teardown during events.
General requirements :
- Relevant experience according to the level of the position.
- Knowledge of MAPAQ standards and good food safety practices.
- Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
- Availability to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays according to event schedules.
- Team spirit, autonomy, rigor and concern for service quality.
- Reliability and punctuality.
Working conditions :
- Work in a dynamic, high-volume environment.
- Ability to stand for several hours, lift boxes, move merchandise and work in a noisy environment.
- Exposure to heat, humidity and cleaning products.
- Variable and irregular schedule according to events and activities at Place Bell.
