As a buyer within the Construction Site Services department (SCHAN), you will play an essential role in the smooth running of our operations. In collaboration with the Construction Site Services department team and site managers, you will be at the heart of purchasing the materials, tools and supplies needed to carry out our projects.

Your main responsibilities

  • Purchase the materials, tools and supplies needed for job sites;
  • Search for suppliers, request quotes and negotiate prices and purchasing terms;
  • Process purchase requests and follow up on orders with suppliers;
  • Track deliveries as well as missing or non-compliant items, and communicate coordination needs to the principal procurement manager;
  • Verify receipts, follow up on missing or non-compliant products and obtain the required credits from suppliers;
  • Monitor supply inventory and take part in restocking;
  • Verify and approve supplier invoices against agreed prices and delivery slips;

Desired profile

  • DEC in logistics, procurement or a related field, or a combination of relevant experience;
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in similar functions;
  • Knowledge of construction materials, tools and equipment;
  • Experience in the construction field, an asset;
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills;
  • Sense of organization and responsibility;
  • Good priority management;
  • Autonomy and resourcefulness;
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making ability;
  • Good command of computer tools.
