Manufacturing and Supply Coordinator
Ideal position for an experienced welder-assembler looking to transition into an office role while remaining at the heart of manufacturing.
At Métal Laurentide, we believe that the best manufacturing decisions are made by people who have already worked on the shop floor. We are looking for someone with solid experience in welding and metal fabrication who wants to put their expertise to use in a coordination role between projects, suppliers, and production.
You will be the person who transforms the drawings, plans, and information from project managers into concrete manufacturing files for the workshop. You will also participate in material purchases and ensure the link between the office and production so that projects are ready to be manufactured efficiently.
Your main responsibilities
Production preparation
- Analyze manufacturing plans and drawings.
- Prepare production files for the workshop.
- Determine material and supply needs.
- Ensure effective information transfer between project managers and production.
- Answer technical questions from the manufacturing team.
Purchases and procurement
- Make purchases of steel, aluminum, and hardware.
- Obtain and analyze supplier bids.
- Negotiate prices and deadlines when required.
- Track orders.
- Maintain good relationships with suppliers.
Coordination
- Act as a liaison between project managers, suppliers, and the workshop.
- Participate in resolving technical issues.
- Contribute to improving manufacturing methods and material management.
- Participate in production priority planning.

Profile sought
- DEP in welding-assembly or equivalent experience.
- Significant experience in metal fabrication.
- Excellent reading of plans.
- Good knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Developed sense of organization and priorities.
- Ease of communication with workshop teams and suppliers.
- Desire to evolve into a coordination and office role.
Assets
- Experience in worked metals.
- Experience in purchasing or procurement.
- Experience as a team leader or resource person in the workshop.
