What we are looking for: We are looking for a human resources manager with experience in employee relations, organizational development and delivery of HR programs. You will be part of a collaborative HR team responsible for supporting employees at our Montréal and Québec offices and serving as a strategic business partner for management. You will be involved in engagement, employee development and the promotion of an inclusive and supportive workplace. Your responsibilities:
  • Guide supervisors through all aspects of performance management, including developing coaching and performance improvement plans, and identifying development opportunities for high-potential employees.
  • Promote adoption of the programs designed by the Centre of Excellence (COE), including supporting leaders throughout the performance engagement process, including check-ins, evaluations and calibration sessions.
  • Determine talent needs in partnership with hiring managers, collaborate with Talent Acquisition (TA) on recruitment activities and support the onboarding of new employees.
  • Review and recommend employee job changes, promotions, merit increases and compensation changes by following established procedures and in consultation with CLV senior management.
  • Promote the employee experience, including fostering engagement, culture and retention of top talent, in line with OPENLANE values. Implement employee relations practices to establish and maintain a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of trust and engagement among employees.
  • Address all employee labour relations concerns, including conducting investigations as needed and resolving issues promptly.
  • Coordinate all Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) claims, including accommodation and return-to-work programs. Collaborate with the benefits and leave administrator for non-occupational leaves, disability, accommodation and return-to-work programs.
  • Support the health and safety committee, including ensuring that incident reports and incident investigations are carried out in accordance with OPENLANE safety procedures.
  • Conduct exit interviews, consolidate data and make recommendations to local management and/or the regional HR manager on turnover trends and solutions to improve retention.
  • Support managers in onboarding and offboarding employees, including involuntary departures.
  • Provide training to employees and supervisors, including just-in-time training and coaching for talent management programs.
  • Identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement of people programs to enhance the employee experience and support operational objectives.
Who you will work with: Reporting to the regional HR manager, this role will work daily with local employees (Saint Eustache and Lévis) and their management, including department heads. This role will also collaborate closely on a regular basis with other HR managers, business partners and COE functions (payroll, benefits, talent acquisition, HR shared services, compensation, talent growth and development, and legal services). Essential requirements:
  • Bilingual in English and French
    • This role requires you to interact with clients, leaders and colleagues in Quebec, in other provinces or in other countries who may not speak French.
  • Bachelor's or college diploma with a specialization in HR, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of human resources experience, including 3 years in a management or HR business partner role.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant employment legislation.
  • High discretion when handling confidential matters.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to apply principles and best practices in the appropriate context.
  • Proven experience building strong relationships, fostering trust and collaboration at all levels.
  • Proven ability to analyze HR metrics (e.g., turnover rates, employee engagement scores) to identify trends, generate insights and recommend data-driven solutions.
  • Ability to guide employees through change and address their concerns or resistance.
  • Travel may be required (up to 15%), including within the assigned territory and to company offices.
Assets:
  • CHRP designation or other related designation is an asset.
  • Experience in personnel management.
  • Experience in change management or project management.
  • Prior experience working with GoogleSuite and Workday.
