Automation Electrical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Automation Electrical Engineer to join their industrial operations team in Gatineau . This role focuses on the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated control systems and electrical infrastructure within our manufacturing facilities. You will play a key role in enhancing operational efficiency, safety, and reliability through the application of advanced automation technologies. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in industrial controls, PLCs, and SCADA systems, with a passion for optimizing complex industrial processes and ensuring seamless plant operations in a hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities Design, program, and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs). Develop and implement SCADA systems for process monitoring and control. Design electrical control panels and schematics for automated machinery. Specify and select electrical components, sensors, and actuators for automation systems. Collaborate with mechanical engineers and operations teams to integrate automation solutions. Ensure automation systems comply with safety standards and industry best practices. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. Minimum of 4 years of experience in industrial automation and control systems. Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and HMI software. Experience with SCADA system configuration and integration. Strong understanding of electrical schematics, control panel design, and industrial networking .
