About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Logistics Specialist to manage and coordinate the movement of goods for their operations based in Gatineau . This role is critical for ensuring timely and cost-effective transportation of products, managing carrier relationships, and optimizing logistics processes. You will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of shipments, problem-solving logistical challenges, and maintaining accurate documentation. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of transportation methods and supply chain dynamics.

Key Responsibilities Coordinate domestic and international shipments, ensuring compliance with regulations and timelines. Manage relationships with carriers, negotiate rates, and monitor carrier performance. Track shipments, proactively identify potential delays, and communicate updates to stakeholders. Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including customs declarations. Resolve logistical issues and discrepancies efficiently to minimize disruption. Maintain accurate records of all transportation activities and costs within the logistics system. Requirements 2-4 years of experience in a logistics, transportation, or supply chain role. Solid understanding of transportation modes (truck, rail, air, sea) and international shipping procedures. Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) is an advantage. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
