Prep Cook

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of food safety and handling practices. As a Prep Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall success of our restaurant.

Duties

• Assist in the preparation of ingredients for meals, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
• Follow recipes and instructions from the head chef to ensure consistency in food quality.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety standards.
• Help with inventory management by keeping track of supplies and notifying management when stock is low.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
• Participate in daily kitchen operations, including cleaning equipment and utensils after use.
• Support the cooking staff during peak hours by preparing additional ingredients as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety regulations.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
• Familiarity with various kitchen equipment and tools is beneficial.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills in the food service industry.

Pay: $19.00-$23.00 per hour
