ESTIMATOR DESCRIPTION OF TASKS
- Prepare the evaluation of material and/or labor costs
- Prepare general estimate bids
- Prepare detailed estimate bids
- Prepare a general expense evaluation
- Conduct feasibility studies and provide estimate bids related to proposed projects
- Read and interpret plans, maps, drawings and specifications
- Use computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) systems and other computer systems
- Evaluate costs before contract award
- Follow pre-measurement procedures
- Implement control and reporting procedures
- Prepare and update directories of suppliers and specialized contractors
- Communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors, liaise with them and consult them on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
SKILLS AND APPLICATION CRITERIA
- Ability to work in a team
- Relevant experience in metal drawing or steel structures
