UNOFFICIAL DESCRIPTION
YOUR WORK TEAM
Information Technology Service
JOB SUMMARY
Within the Information Technology Service (STI), you will join a dynamic and multidisciplinary team committed to supporting the teaching and research mission of Université TÉLUQ. Information technology is at the heart of the University's activities, and you will evolve in a modern and stimulating environment, where your contributions will have a concrete impact on the evolution of digital services offered to the university community.
You will join the new digital transformation squad and design the architecture of the proposed technological solutions, ensuring their functional, applicative, and technical consistency. You will play a central role in evaluating technological choices, integrating and evolving systems, as well as in the security and performance of solutions. In close collaboration with the IT teams and squads, you will accompany technological modernization and ensure alignment with the University's technological orientations.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a solution architecture advisor, you will be called upon to:
- Analyze the needs, constraints, and institutional objectives and design the architectures adapted to the domain entrusted to you. Define the architectural orientations, evaluate and recommend the appropriate components and technologies. Ensure the functional, applicative, and technological consistency of the solutions as well as the interoperability of the technological ecosystem. In the context of solution architecture, this includes selecting design patterns and technologies adapted to the University's needs.
- Document and evolve the components, models, standards, methods, practices, and architectural orientations relevant to your domain. Produce the required architecture artifacts, including diagrams, technical sheets, and reference documents, ensure their accessibility, and promote their appropriation and application by the concerned stakeholders.
- Conduct architecture reviews and impact analyses, evaluate risks, identify dependencies between systems, and formulate recommendations to guide decisions and technological choices. Analyze deviations from architectural orientations and standards and recommend appropriate mitigation or compliance measures.
- Verify the alignment of digital initiatives with institutional strategic orientations. Develop and evolve the architectural roadmaps of your domain to guide the progressive transformation of the technological environment. Contribute to limiting technological debt and ensuring the sustainability and scalability of the environment. As part of the position, you will contribute to modernization and development projects for solutions.
- Estimate, plan, and coordinate architecture work in your area of expertise in a context where multiple initiatives are being carried out simultaneously. Evaluate the efforts, constraints, risks, and dependencies associated with this work, monitor progress, and produce the required accountability reports.
- Act as an architecture reference for IT teams and multidisciplinary teams. Guide and support their analysis and design work, participate in structural decisions, advise teams on architectural choices, and promote the adoption of guidelines, standards, and best practices. You will notably support squads in their solution architecture choices.
- Accompany stakeholders and administrative units in understanding architectural issues and facilitate decision-making, technical communication, and change management. Translate complex technological issues into understandable guidelines and recommendations for interlocutors of different levels and areas of expertise.
- Contribute to the maintenance of the application inventory and the reporting of the state of health of information assets. As needed, also contribute to the preparation of documents and reports associated with LGGRI requirements, including opportunity files, business cases, benefit realization plans, and project health reports.
- Carry out continuous technological monitoring of trends, benchmarks, and best practices in your field. Keep your knowledge up to date, evaluate the relevance and applicability of new approaches in the institutional context, and ensure their transfer to IT teams and multidisciplinary teams.
- Participate in the communities of practice of the Bureau de coopération interuniversitaire and contribute to inter-institutional work and exchanges related to your area of expertise. You may also contribute to internal technological communities of practice, notably those related to .NET and Oracle/APEX environments.
