UNOFFICIAL DESCRIPTION

YOUR WORK TEAM

Information Technology Service

JOB SUMMARY

Within the Information Technology Service (STI), you will join a dynamic and multidisciplinary team committed to supporting the teaching and research mission of Université TÉLUQ. Information technology is at the heart of the University's activities, and you will evolve in a modern and stimulating environment, where your contribution will have a concrete impact on the evolution of digital services offered to the university community.

You will join the new digital transformation squad and be responsible for the modeling, quality, circulation, and enhancement of institutional data. You will define data structures, standards, and norms, and ensure their consistency across the University's technological ecosystem. In close collaboration with IT teams and analysts, you will accompany the creation and modification of data structures, contribute to the optimization of queries, and promote a proactive approach to the governance and enhancement of institutional data.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a data architecture and enhancement advisor, you will be called upon to:

  • Analyze institutional needs, constraints, and objectives, and design adapted architectures for the domain entrusted to you. Define architectural orientations, evaluate and recommend suitable components and technologies. Ensure the functional, applicative, and technological consistency of solutions, as well as the interoperability of the technological ecosystem through common models and standards. In the field of data, this includes defining and maintaining institutional data models, as well as standards and norms for modeling.
  • Document and evolve the components, models, norms, methods, practices, and architectural orientations relevant to your domain. Produce the required architectural artifacts, including diagrams, technical sheets, reference documents, and data models, ensure their accessibility, and promote their appropriation and application by the concerned stakeholders. You will also contribute to the definition of metadata, management rules, and practices surrounding the documentation of institutional data.
  • Conduct architecture reviews and impact analyses, evaluate risks, identify dependencies between systems, and formulate recommendations to guide decisions and technological choices. Evaluate the short, medium, and long-term consequences of the scenarios considered. In the field of data, you will evaluate the impact of architectural decisions on the quality, availability, circulation, and security of institutional data.
  • Verify the alignment of digital initiatives with institutional strategic directions. Develop and evolve the architectural roadmaps of your domain to guide the progressive transformation of the technological environment. Propose improvements to existing practices and contribute to the technological governance of your domain. You will notably contribute to the implementation and evolution of the data governance framework and practices related to their quality, classification, and circulation.
  • Estimate, plan, and coordinate architecture work in your domain in a context where several initiatives are carried out simultaneously. Evaluate the efforts, constraints, risks, and dependencies associated with this work, monitor progress, and produce the required reports. You may notably contribute to maintaining the inventory and categorization of institutional data as well as the related reports.
  • Act as a reference in architecture for IT teams and multidisciplinary teams. Guide and support their analysis and design work, participate in structural decisions, advise teams on architectural choices, and promote the adoption of directions, standards, and best practices as well as skill development. You will notably accompany analysts in the creation and modification of data structures and may contribute to query optimization.
  • Accompany stakeholders and administrative units in understanding architectural issues and facilitate decision-making, technical communication, and change management. Translate complex technological issues into understandable directions and recommendations for interlocutors of different levels and areas of expertise. You will notably support projects involving data exchanges, transformations, consolidations, integrations, or migrations.
  • Ensure the consistency and interoperability of the technological ecosystem through common models and standards. In the context of data, this may include defining shared structures and exchange standards as well as contributing to the implementation of official data sources and authorized data repositories.
  • Contribute to establishing the foundations for the exploitation and valorization of institutional data according to business intelligence best practices, notably by setting up environments that facilitate analysis, visualization, and use of data for decision-making purposes.
  • Carry out continuous technological monitoring of trends, references, and best practices in your domain. Keep your knowledge up to date, evaluate the relevance and applicability of new approaches in the institutional context, and ensure their transfer to IT teams and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Participate in the practice communities of the Bureau de coopération interuniversitaire and contribute to inter-institutional work and exchanges related to your area of expertise.
