
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Mechanical Maintenance Attendant responds to mechanical maintenance requests received by production as well as by the supervisor.
Job Responsibilities
- Detect, identify and repair electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic defects occurring on machines;
- Repair and modify, if necessary, the commands and controls of auxiliary equipment and any other plant equipment;
- Design and install control systems;
- Check the list of parts in inventory as well as work orders concerning preventive and corrective maintenance and order them as needed;
- Consult, study, interpret plans, drawings and diagrams illustrating the mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems of machinery and equipment used in the course of operations;
- Perform various repairs on forklifts, molds, lubrication systems and other peripheral equipment;
- Lubricate and grease machinery;
- Perform certain tasks of the preventive maintenance program;
- Complete documents concerning his work;
- Respect the plant's safety regulations and policy;
- Perform all other related tasks not specifically mentioned in this description, at the request of his immediate supervisor.
Required Skills
- Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in instrumentation and control and/or industrial electronics, Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in electromechanics of automated systems or equivalent;
- Experience in a manufacturing environment (an asset);
- Functional English (understand, read, speak and write) (an asset);
- Having taken the Safe Operation of a Forklift course (an asset);
- Knowledge of the extrusion molding process (an asset);
- Basic knowledge of mathematics and French;
- Aptitude for team work, autonomy, resourcefulness, versatility and meticulousness;
- Safely handle parts and tools.
