The opportunity
At BPA, we value hands-on experience and people who truly understand how work unfolds on the job site. As a Construction Inspector with experience in mechanical and/or electrical systems and project management, you will play a key role in monitoring construction activities. You will work closely with engineers, contractors and the various trades, while ensuring that the work is carried out with precision and in accordance with the plans, specifications and contractual requirements. Acting as an essential link between project teams, you will directly contribute to the successful completion of projects in the Gatineau region.
Your daily impact
- Ensure the completion of small and medium-scale work as well as the conformity of plans and specifications.
- Carry out site visits, write site reports and notices to contractors to enforce contractual clauses
- Monitor the contractor's annotation of plans for the production of as-built plans
- Monitor schedules and attend site meetings
- Verify the progress of the work against the plans and specifications
- Contribute to solving technical problems and provide expertise in interpreting plans and specifications
- Analyze and negotiate change order prices with contractors
Your profile
- Technical diploma or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, building systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role, with knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle required.
- Excellent communication skills in French and English, both oral and written. *
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite applications, notably Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Versatility, autonomy and demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and schedules simultaneously
- Excellent report-writing skills and experience working within multidisciplinary teams.
- Great attention to detail and strong commitment to quality.
- Curiosity and initiative.
- Spirit of collaboration and teamwork.
- A command of English is essential due to participation in commercial projects outside Quebec and national projects where all meetings and documentation are exclusively in English.
