This position is in Cargill's animal nutrition and health sector, where we improve animal lives through better nutrition. Our plant conducts research, innovates and creates solutions that deliver healthy results for our customers. Following the retirement of one of our members, our team wishes to add a new person to manage all maintenance of our St-Valérien de Milton facilities

Schedule: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday

Hourly rate : CAD 28.82 to 32 per hour depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for disassembly, assembly and routine work on all sanitation-related equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment
  • Respond to production calls. In addition, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for the proper functioning of equipment. They must ensure production starts on time.
  • Carry out certain welding, fabrication and modification work.
  • Carry out certain equipment improvement and replacement projects.
  • Repair equipment in the workshop, keep the workshop clean, complete work orders, requisitions and other documents.
  • Perform maintenance and repair of components and systems (motors, variable speed drives, bearings, gears, clutches, couplings, etc.)
  • Identify problems and determine the causes of breakdowns
  • Perform basic welding and machining work
  • Take part in site safety programs and apply company policies
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests (outside working hours, if required)
  • Manage tools, spare parts, manuals and consumables
  • Work at heights (ladders, scaffolding, platforms) with required protective equipment
  • Other assigned duties
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Hold a D.E.P. in electromechanics or industrial mechanics in Quebec or a Quebec equivalent
  • Ability to perform the following physical tasks, such as: bending, crouching, climbing ladders, stooping, lifting up to 25 kg, kneeling, climbing, standing for long periods
  • Ability to work at heights, in hot and/or dusty locations.
  • Open to taking additional training related to the work.
  • The candidate must be able to respond to emergency maintenance calls outside normal hours, including weekends if necessary.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of computer software.
  • Basic knowledge of English
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Demonstrate autonomy, resourcefulness, initiative and drive
  • Have good communication skills
  • Have a safety-first mindset and work behavior
