Job Description

The role of the service technician is to provide professional service and support to Everest Automation's clients. The candidate will report directly to the Mobile Service Supervisor and work closely with the Service Coordinator. The latter plans and prepares interventions to ensure that the technician has everything needed to successfully intervene at clients' sites. The candidate will be responsible for repairing, troubleshooting, and performing preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment in different industries. You will have to program programmable automates, DCS, and their human-machine interface. The service technician will follow safe working procedures and instructions and represent Everest with reliable and quality service to our clients. He/She will ensure that goals and objectives are met while promoting and respecting Everest Automation's culture and Health and Safety Code of Conduct.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Perform service calls for Everest's clients;
  • Calibrate field instruments;
  • Perform troubleshooting on existing process equipment;
  • Accomplish start-ups on instrumentation and automation projects;
  • Program programmable automates and operator interfaces;
  • Participate in control panel assemblies when necessary;
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace;
  • Complete service reports at the end of the day;
  • Qualifications:

Diploma of College Studies (DEC) or Attestation of College Studies (AEC) in instrumentation/automation, industrial electronics, or Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in electromechanics with relevant experience.

  • Min 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role;

Relevant experience in programming PLC and operator interfaces;

  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills

Natural curiosity about how things work;

  • Results-oriented and focused on customer service;
  • Good oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Good ability to work under pressure;
  • Possess the physical requirements to perform the work;
  • Good manual dexterity

Working Conditions

  • Use of required personal protective equipment
  • Work location: In the company and at customer sites as needed, with some travel and occasional overnight stays out of town.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license,
  • Occasional overtime will be necessary.
