We specialize in environmental emergency management: emergency response, spill response, pumping, collection, transportation, treatment, recovery, and disposal of residual and hazardous materials, confined space work, and other related environmental services.

Our emergency response division located in Terrebonne is looking for a mechanic to join its team!

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair operational malfunctions of trucks and heavy diesel equipment.

  • Maintain our fleet of trucks, vacuum trucks, and pressure washing units.

  • Maintain and repair equipment and vehicles that run on heavy diesel, natural gas, gasoline, and electricity.

  • Complete reports, work orders, order parts, and perform other daily administrative tasks as needed.

  • Plan and schedule repairs in the M5 planner and procure all necessary parts for the successful execution of the plan.

  • Assist in reviewing mechanical reports on equipment and coordinate the repair schedule.

  • Ensure safe working conditions and compliance with all safety regulations.

  • Use a variety of electrical and manual tools as well as equipment.

  • Own, provide, and maintain the necessary tools to perform tasks related to the maintenance of heavy/hydraulic equipment.

  • Maintain a clean workspace.

  • Comply in all respects with applicable federal, state/provincial, and local laws, regulations, ordinances, and directives, as well as all company policies, procedures, and guidelines issued by supervisors.

  • Assist in the training and orientation of new employees.

  • Maintain practical knowledge and stay up-to-date with the latest technologies by using technical manuals and participating in technical training seminars and tests.

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair or replace: electrical components, steering and suspension, brakes, hydraulic systems, fuel and emission systems, cooling and heating systems, air systems, and perform regular maintenance.

  • Fill out reports to record problems and work done.

  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • DEP in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics.

  • Valid driver's license, class 5, with a clean record.

  • Owning your own tools is required.

  • Experience with diagnostic software is an asset.

  • Must be computerized, able to be trained on software systems, and have a willingness to learn.

  • Must be able to meet the relevant security clearance criteria for security-sensitive functions according to company standards.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with others.

  • Demonstrate the ability to follow detailed instructions, work independently and maintain accurate records.

  • Ability to understand and effectively use repair and parts manuals written in English.

  • Ability to operate any vehicle or use any equipment necessary to perform the job.

  • Physically capable of performing all aspects of the job.

Work environment:

  • Full-time permanent position, with a work schedule from Monday to Friday from 6am to 2pm

  • Must be comfortable working at heights, if maintenance is required on vacuum trucks.
