About the role
Work from home on a large-scale voice recognition AI project. We are looking for meticulous individuals who speak Canadian French to transcribe and annotate long-duration podcast recordings (30-60+ minutes). Work entirely remotely, flexible schedule: you choose your workload based on available tasks. Pay is $12.00 US per hour.
What you will do
- Accurately transcribe long-duration podcasts following project guidelines
- Identify different speakers and assign consistent speaker labels with accurate timestamps
- Mark turns of speech and segment the audio
- Record the perceived gender of each speaker
- Report audio issues: unclear or distorted speech, strong accents, wrong language, synthetic or AI-generated audio
- Verify and correct pre-annotated segments as needed
- Deliver work that meets the project's quality standards (all work is reviewed)
What we are looking for
- French (Canadian French) at a native language level
- Currently reside in Canada (required)
- English at a B2 level or higher, both written and spoken - project guidelines and tools are in English
- Excellent auditory comprehension and great attention to detail
- Experience in transcribing long audio files (an asset)
Pay and workload
- $12.00 US per hour; billable time is tracked on the task platform
- Tasks are posted weekly on a first-come, first-served basis; volume varies
- Work as much or as little as you want, up to 10 billable hours per day
- A typical task corresponds to a complete podcast episode - expect long sessions of concentrated listening

- Stable internet connection and quiet workspace
Integrity
All transcription must be done manually. The use of automatic speech recognition tools or AI transcription is strictly prohibited and detected during quality control.
