Qualifications
Qualifications - External candidates
Washer/Gas Station Attendant/Service Attendant - Entry Level
- Greet customers and provide them with an excellent experience when fueling and washing vehicles
- Perform vehicle preparation inspections (tires, fluids, and other basic elements)
- Maintain clean and safe facilities for customers and employees
- Develop skills through training and practical coaching to perform minor repairs (installing mounted tires, replacing or rotating tires, preventive maintenance)
- Perform any other task or project assigned by the supervisor
Diesel Technician/Mechanic III - Entry Level
- Basic mechanical skills and 1 to 2 years of experience in automotive or diesel repair (desired)
- Valid driver's license class G or class 5 and ability to obtain class DZ/Class 3 within 6 months of hire (required)
- High school diploma
- Vocational or technical training in vehicle repair (completed or in progress - desired)
- Use Penske tools and technologies to record, research, and perform repairs, including basic diagnostics
- Perform preventive maintenance (tire replacement or rotation), lubrication, and component replacement, some electrical repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gasoline and diesel engines
- Collaborate with the manager to acquire new skills through Penske training and practical coaching
Diesel Technician / Mechanic II - Intermediate Level
- 2 to 4 years of practical experience in tractor-trailer maintenance (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Vocational, technical, or certification training (desired)
- Candidates with a 310S license / journeyman or automotive training will be considered
- Demonstrated ability to repair and diagnose, with minimal supervision:
o Engines (gas and diesel)
o Powertrains (differentials, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts, PTO, hubs)
o Electrical systems (starters, alternators)
o HVAC systems o Steering systems o Electronic systems (ECM, ECU, sensors, etc.)
o Engine components (turbos, fan clutches, injectors, cooling systems)
o Braking systems (including ABS)
o Suspensions (springs and air suspension)
- Perform mechanical and cosmetic refurbishment of equipment for resale and prepare new equipment for delivery
Technician I - Experienced
- 5 years of practical experience in truck and tractor-trailer maintenance
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Professional or technical certification in vehicle repair (desired)
- Valid driver's license, class 5 (must have or be willing to obtain air brake certification)
- Ensure that vehicles are safe and well-maintained for customers
- Perform preventive maintenance on trucks and trailers with little or no supervision and within required deadlines
- Repair and diagnose major components (engines, transmissions, differentials), including replacement of complete assemblies, turbochargers, fuel system components, etc.
- Use Penske tools and technologies to record, research, and perform repairs, including basic diagnostics

- The position requires understanding and memorizing instructions and directives. The candidate must be able to see and communicate verbally. The required visual abilities include near vision, far vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjustment of focus.
- The candidate will be required to frequently move, stand, walk, and sit. They will be required to use their hands to manipulate objects and reach with their arms. They must be able to regularly lift up to 23 kg (50 lb) and occasionally up to 45 kg (100 lb).
