Reliability Engineer - Gatineau

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability of the plant's equipment. As such, you will develop and implement maintenance strategies aimed at maximizing equipment availability, optimizing maintenance costs, and supporting the continuous improvement of operations.

More specifically, your responsibilities will be

  • Develop, implement, and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve reliability, availability, performance, and equipment lifespan;
  • Closely collaborate with maintenance teams to analyze failures, identify causes, and implement sustainable solutions that promote equipment and infrastructure performance and longevity;
  • Act as a technical expert for the mechanical maintenance team by supporting troubleshooting, modification, installation, and continuous improvement of equipment;
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and updating of technical documentation associated with equipment, including plans, drawings, nomenclatures, maintenance procedures, and technical specifications;
  • Identify improvement opportunities, recommend technical solutions, and participate in the implementation of reliability, optimization, and investment projects;
  • Monitor and analyze maintenance performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of strategies in place, identify gaps, and recommend corrective and preventive actions;
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives for maintenance processes aimed at increasing equipment reliability and availability while supporting the achievement of performance objectives;
  • Promote an exemplary health and safety culture by ensuring compliance with standards, procedures, and best practices, while ensuring that work is carried out safely.

Job Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering;
  • Be a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec or in the process of becoming one;
  • Have between 1 to 3 years of experience in reliability, industrial maintenance, or a similar role;
  • Master the Microsoft Office suite as well as DAO software (AutoCad, Inventor);
  • Be familiar with tissue conversion processes (an asset);
  • Hold a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification (an asset);
  • Be able to communicate effectively in French and English, both orally and in writing.
