About us

REF. manufactures custom solid wood furniture in a 10,000 pi² workshop in Gatineau. Dining tables, desks, cabinetry. Each piece is made to order for a client who will live with it for thirty years. The finish is the last step of our work and the first thing the client notices.

Your responsibilities

Sand, stain and varnish solid wood furniture in our finishing bay. Apply our stain recipes to a catalog of 12 finishes in white oak, red oak, walnut and maple. Spray polyurethane finishes and apply oil-wax. Inspect surfaces and correct defects before packaging. Maintain the booth, guns and bay clean and organized. Package and box finished pieces for delivery and cross-border shipping.

Profile sought

Experience in furniture finishing, cabinetry or architectural woodworking. Comfortable with a paint gun and hand-applied oil finishes. A true attention to detail, you spot a sanding scratch or an uneven panel before the client. Reliable, punctual, able to work autonomously. Able to lift 50 lb. French-English bilingualism is an asset.

Experience with Rubio Monocoat, Osmo or similar oil-wax is an asset. No formal training required if you can show us your work. Experience with gun kremlin is an asset.
