Operations Supervisor

Position: Operations Supervisor

Sanivac is looking for an operations supervisor to manage the daily operations of our Gatineau branch. You'll be at the heart of the action: team coordination, resource planning, handling unexpected issues and monitoring operations. We are looking for a hands-on manager who can mobilize their team, make quick decisions and find solutions so that operations run efficiently day after day.

Since 1961, Sanivac, a local, Quebec-based family business, has positioned itself as a leader in various environmental services. Our specialties include renting portable toilets and sanitary trailers, sewer cleaning, as well as septic tank and grease trap pumping. We are also experts in hydro-excavation and urban infrastructure maintenance.

Salary: Starting at $100,000/year, with possible competitive adjustment based on your experience and qualifications

Schedule: Full-time day shift, 45 to 50 hours per week, year-round

The challenges we have for you

• Manage the branch's daily operations and ensure activities run smoothly in the field
• Plan schedules, distribute responsibilities and coordinate resources according to operational needs
• Supervise, mobilize and support employees to maintain an efficient and engaged team
• Respond quickly to unexpected events, emergencies, absences or mechanical issues and find solutions to keep operations running
• Track hours worked, overtime and labour needs to use resources efficiently
• Maintain smooth communication between the branch, field teams and the various departments
• Ensure the availability of materials and equipment needed for operations and plan for upcoming needs
• Identify opportunities for improvement and implement solutions to optimize the efficiency and profitability of operations

What we're looking for in you

• 3 to 5 years of experience in operations management or supervision in a field environment
• Inclusive leadership and comfort coaching, mobilizing and empowering a team
• Excellent judgment and the ability to make quick decisions when priorities change
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities, emergencies and operational issues simultaneously
• Professionalism, rigour and maturity in managing employees and more sensitive situations
• Experience in sanitation services, transportation, transshipment or a similar operational environment, an asset
• Proficiency in French and English, both spoken and written, so you can also communicate regularly with certain French-speaking and English-speaking clients.
