Who are we?
The Société de développement de la Baie-James (SDBJ) is a Quebec state-owned company completely dedicated to the economic development of the James Bay territory. Its mission is to promote, from a sustainable development perspective, the economic development, enhancement and exploitation of the territory's natural resources, other than hydroelectric resources under the mandate of Hydro-Québec. It can also initiate, support and participate in the implementation of projects aimed at achieving these goals.
Working conditions and benefits
- Permanent full-time position based in Matagami;
- Monday to Friday work schedule, 40 hours per week, or 8 hours per day;
- Annual salary ranging from $87,682 to $114,739;
- Annual regional disparity premium of $4,320 (without dependents) and $5,747 (with dependents);
- Reimbursement of moving expenses;
- Comprehensive benefits package (pension plan, vacations, group insurance, PAE, 10 days for sick leave or family obligations, professional order contribution, training, 14 holidays, etc.).
The mandate
- Plan, coordinate and monitor road network maintenance activities under his/her responsibility;
- Develop work plans, operational calendars and annual maintenance budgets;
- Supervise the logistics of operations, including procurement, equipment management and vehicle fleet maintenance;
- Ensure the evaluation of the road network's condition and compliance with the work carried out;
- Lead, mobilize and support the teams under his/her responsibility, particularly in terms of occupational health and safety;
- Participate in contract management, preparation of calls for tenders and relations with external partners and stakeholders.

Required skills and aptitudes
- Hold a university degree in engineering, operations management, administration or any combination of training or experience deemed equivalent;
- Have five (5) years of experience, including two (2) years in a management position;
- Mastery of the MTMD's road maintenance standards;
- Mastery of specialized software, including GIS (Geographic Information System), road maintenance management software and telemetry systems;
- Be able to design, read and interpret plans and specifications;
- Mastery of the Office suite (Word, Excel, MS Project and Outlook) software;
- Good knowledge of occupational health and safety practices and environmental requirements;
- Hold a valid driver's license, class 5;
- Experience in a northern territory will be considered an asset.
