About the position
The animal health technician (AHT) we are looking for is distinguished by their ability to establish trust relationships with clients, showing attention, empathy, and kindness towards owners and their animals. They act with respect in all interactions and provide high-quality customer service.
As part of their duties, the AHT assists the veterinarian during medical, surgical, and dental interventions. They use various diagnostic equipment, prepare patients, instruments, and required materials, and administer and monitor medical treatments under the supervision of the veterinarian.
The candidate must have passed the National Examination for Animal Health Technicians (NEAHT), or be eligible to take it, be in good standing with the provincial regulatory body, and have successfully completed a Canadian accredited two- or three-year program leading to a diploma in veterinary technology or animal health.
