Store Performance
- Ensures that store performance meets financial objectives and key parameters based on annual and quarterly operating plans.
- Monitors and adjusts the pace of work on an ongoing basis.
- Understands the company's objectives and local market potential, and is able to analyze key parameters, observations, and information and react accordingly.
- Inspects the sales floor to ensure it is conducive to shopping, meets merchandising standards, and provides a positive experience for customers and donors at all points of interaction.
- Drives the generation of new memberships to the Super Savers Club.
- Leads team member activities by priority.
- Leads and supervises the work of supervisors and team members on the sales floor.
- Plans staffing and coordinates recruitment, selection, and training.
- Regularly interacts with supervisors and team members to train, coach, and counsel them. Emphasizes merit and provides frank feedback. Responds to complaints and resolves issues.
- Identifies and develops high-potential team members for supervisory and leadership positions through guided on-the-job tasks.
- Sets an example and ensures a respectful workplace that is focused on our company values and compliant with all Savers policies and procedures.
- In the absence of the store director, assumes their responsibilities and supervises the entire store as an acting director.
Retail and Donation Center Activities
- Plans the schedule of supervisors and team members at the checkout, self-checkout, and on the sales floor to meet customer needs.
- Continuously reviews the sales floor and donation areas, and directs team member activities to ensure standards are met. Adjusts the pace of work.
- Informs team members of operating plan objectives and progress toward objectives.
- Regularly reviews sales, items sold, and operational team work hours during each shift to ensure efficiency targets are met, and determines whether to increase, decrease, or reassign staff.
- Identifies non-compliant sections and categories, and takes action to correct the situation.
- Is responsible for determining the appropriate space-to-sales ratio for shelves and categories using the CatMax tool and adjusting linear foot allocation accordingly, in collaboration with the Store Manager to maximize sales.
- Receives customer questions, requests, and complaints and responds to them.
- Handles customer exchanges, special needs, and team member purchases as needed.
- Uses the Voice of the Customer program to improve customer and donor satisfaction.
- Provides a positive and memorable experience for customers and donors by first setting the example for team members, then training and coaching them on customer service expectations.
- Actively engages with customers by seeking their direct feedback to make improvements to all aspects of the shopping and donation experience.
- Organizes the implementation of sales, promotions, and marketing programs.
- Ensures a safe working environment by training, constant monitoring, implementing and adhering to policies and procedures, and supporting the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
- Collaborates with the Store Manager to resolve safety issues. Reports the situation on the Interview Entry platform, if applicable.
- Protects company assets and information by ensuring their safe handling, security, and integrity.
- Manages cash handling and payment controls. Performs morning accounting and banking procedures as needed and ensures all supervisors are trained to perform this procedure according to standards.
- Actively promotes loss prevention by ensuring procedures are followed and policies are in place.
What you have:
- Solid mathematical and analytical skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to observe, evaluate, and coach the work of others.
- Ability to use common sense to follow instructions provided verbally or in writing.
- Ability to reason, make decisions, and exercise judgment in various situations.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
- High school diploma; post-secondary diploma preferred.
- Experience as a sales floor supervisor, cashier supervisor, customer service manager, or sales manager.
- Experience in the Savers production environment, in managing sorting functions. click apply for full job details
