Mode of work: The work requires availability at all times on the road with travel in the assigned region to the mentioned home port. Teleworking outside the region is not possible due to the particularities of the position to be filled. Your main responsibilities will be the following

Under the responsibility of the Director of the Prevention-Inspection Service – Outaouais, the job holder must intervene regularly in the territory of the region with targeted establishments or construction sites by the CNESST according to intervention priorities or during occasional customer requests (complaints, refusal to work, accident investigations, etc.), in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, regulations, policies, and action plans in effect.

The job holder also promotes the taking charge of health and safety in the workplace to prevent accidents and occupational diseases. They intervene based on the mandates assigned to them and, if necessary, collaborate closely with interested parties such as health sector partners, joint associations, and other CNESST interveners. In this regard, the job holder must, in particular:

  • Identify, assess, and qualify dangerous situations and make decisions that follow from them;
  • Advise, assist, and support clients in developing and implementing action plans and prevention programs, in setting up and maintaining health and safety committees;
  • Promote prevention and the elimination of hazards at the source by prioritizing prevention in the implementation of their joint approach;
  • Design operational intervention strategies adapted to the targeted workplace;
  • Document the situation of workplaces in order to intervene effectively with them;
  • Take charge of and direct the action of external and internal CNESST interveners involved in the intervention for concerted action.

Pay scale: $55,611 to $103,369

The salary scale indicated for the position to be filled takes into account the salary adjustment based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) 2026. Note that the salary adjustment will not be paid at the time of hiring, but within 180 days following April 20, 2026, and retroactive to the hiring date or March 31, 2026.

Remuneration is determined based on the relevance of all your education and experience related to the job.

Education

Holding a university degree with a minimum of 90 credits in the field of pure and applied sciences such as agroforestry, biology, chemistry, engineering, environment; in the field of health sciences such as occupational therapy, physiotherapy, kinesiology; in the field of law, in the field of administration such as business administration-SST, business administration-GRH or in industrial relations or in a field deemed relevant.

The application of a person who is in the process of completing the last year of schooling required to obtain the required degree may be considered.

Each missing year of schooling can be offset by a year of relevant schooling of equal or higher level than that required. The required degree can be offset by a combination of university degrees in relevant disciplines totaling a minimum of 90 credits or by a master's degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 45 credits.

A person who holds a university degree with a minimum of 90 non-relevant credits combined with six (6) years of relevant experience in the duties of the job acquired in a technical or professional position may also be admitted.

Education Outside Canada

If your education was completed outside Canada, you must hold a comparative evaluation (equivalence certificate) issued by the Ministry of Immigration, Francization and Integration at the time of application so that your file can be analyzed.

The comparative evaluation from the MIFI is the only recognized document for our jobs. If you hold your document, please indicate it in your registration form, in the corresponding diploma.

Citizenship

You possess Canadian citizenship, permanent resident status, or a work permit issued by the competent federal authority to hold a position in the Quebec public service.

If you are waiting for proof of your permanent resident status or a work permit, you can submit your application to this selection process. However, if you are the selected person, you will need to have received your authorization to work legally in Canada at the time of your appointment.

Knowledge of French

You possess a knowledge of French appropriate to the functions.
