Logistics Superintendent - Gatineau

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Production Director - Transformation, you will be responsible for the overall performance of the logistical operations of our Gatineau plants. You will ensure the effective management of inventories, material flows, storage, and shipping, while ensuring team mobilization and achieving health-safety, productivity, and service objectives.

Leadership and Logistics Operations Management

• Ensure the management and optimization of receiving, storage, operation supply, and shipping activities;
• Mobilize, supervise, and develop supervisors and their teams to achieve health-safety, service, productivity, and performance objectives;
• Contribute to the proactive resolution of operational and labor relations issues in a unionized environment;
• Promote the application of best logistics practices and respect for operational procedures;
• Develop supervisors' skills and support succession planning to ensure the sustainability of operations and talent growth.

Operational Performance and Continuous Improvement

• Optimize material flows, storage operations, and resource utilization to improve the sector's overall efficiency;
• Ensure inventory accuracy and implement measures to reduce discrepancies, losses, and associated costs;
• Analyze performance indicators and deploy necessary actions to improve service levels, productivity, and operational reliability;
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing logistics processes, storage spaces, and work methods;
• Contribute to achieving the department's strategic objectives and operational transformation projects.

Health, Safety, and Quality

• Promote a strong health-safety and quality culture by ensuring respect for standards, procedures, and best practices;
• Actively participate in committees, audits, and programs aimed at improving organizational performance;
• Ensure respect for and application of requirements associated with certifications, programs, and management systems in effect (FSC, ISO, CTPAT, SGQESS).

Job Requirements

• Hold a college or university diploma in operations and logistics management, industrial engineering, business administration, or a related field;
• Have 5 to 8 years of management experience in a manufacturing environment;
• Demonstrate experience in personnel management in a unionized environment (an asset);
• Mastery of SAP, MES/PA software and Microsoft 365 suite tools;
• Be available to ensure operational coverage according to a rotating schedule;
• Mastery of French and English, both written and spoken.
