The Director, Accounting will serve as a senior accounting leader, reporting to the Vice President, Finance, and helping to build a scalable and future-ready accounting function for a growing, multi-entity business. This is a true builder role for a collaborative, hands-on leader who can create structure, establish practical standards, develop people and processes, and guide the organization through significant transformation.

The Director will ensure that financial information is reliable, controls are disciplined, financial reporting is solid, and the transition of accounting responsibilities is successful while taking on accounting requirements and business decisions associated with a major ERP implementation. Key Responsibilities Accounting Function Development Establish and strengthen the accounting operational model, including team capabilities, governance, policies, processes, controls, and service expectations. Establish a roadmap for the transition of accounting responsibilities from acquired portfolio companies while ensuring business continuity and clear accountability.

Implement scalable practices in project accounting, procurement, billing, general accounting, consolidation, and financial reporting. Recruit, coach, and develop a high-performing accounting team while fostering accountability, succession planning, and continuous improvement. Establish alignment among stakeholders and make timely decisions that balance immediate operational requirements with long-term scalability.

Financial Control and Reporting Lead accounting operations across a complex portfolio of entities, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information and underlying trial balances. Drive a disciplined, predictable, and efficient monthly and annual close and consolidation process. Provide technical leadership on complex IFRS and US GAAP issues and the application of the company's accounting policies.

Lead the preparation and execution of the audit, oversee SOX/ICFR compliance and identify and remediate control gaps. Provide clear, decision-ready financial reports, insights and recommendations to senior leadership and key stakeholders. Transformation, standardization and preparation for PGI Define and standardize future accounting processes, policies, data requirements and internal controls.

Support accounting requirements and key design decisions on the business side for the organization's permanent PGI solution. Partner with IT teams and external implementation teams to translate accounting requirements into effective system design and ensure deliverable accountability. Lead accounting preparation for testing, data conversion, go-live and rollout.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on process simplification, standardization, close quality, audit readiness, automation and appropriate opportunities for IA utilization. Ensure that technology solutions support the broader accounting operational model and long-term organizational growth. The ideal candidate has over ten years of progressive accounting and finance experience in complex and multi-entity environments and holds an active Canadian CPA designation.

They have extensive controllership experience covering financial reporting, consolidation, internal controls, project accounting, procurement, billing and general accounting, as well as strong technical expertise in IFRS and U.S. GAAP. They have worked within a publicly traded organization or have gained equivalent exposure to a public company through a Big 4 accounting firm and have successfully led significant transformation, process improvement, automation or change management initiatives.

Experience helping to shape accounting requirements for PGI implementations, including process design, testing, data conversion and implementation preparation, is particularly valuable. What will set you apart: - Demonstrated success in building or significantly transforming an accounting function within a complex and multi-entity organization. - Proven leadership through significant organizational change, including the ability to improve performance in challenging or evolving team environments. - Solid experience in leading major financial transformations, process improvements, automation or PGI-related initiatives. - Deep technical accounting expertise in IFRS and U.S. GAAP. - Experience in a public company through a publicly traded organization or significant exposure to a Big 4 accounting firm. - Exceptional ability to develop talent, influence senior stakeholders and foster a collaborative, accountable and ego-free culture.
