Job Title: Senior Director Salary and Benefits: $115-125 K + 25% bonus, benefits and pension, three weeks vacation Job Status: Vacancy Location: Gatineau Work Model: Hybrid (4 days on site, 1 day remote) Reporting directly to the Vice-President, Finance, the Senior Director, Consolidations plays a critical leadership role within the financial function of a large complex organization. This position is responsible for overseeing the consolidation and financial reporting processes across multiple entities and business units, ensuring timely, accurate and compliant delivery of financial information to internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • • Lead the quarterly consolidation and reporting process, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of consolidated financial results to senior management. • Review and validate supporting schedules, reconciliations and financial analyses required for external financial statement disclosures and internal management reports.
  • • Coordinate and communicate regularly with business units and corporate departments to facilitate effective period-end closing activities and resolve consolidation-related issues.
  • • Maintain and enhance internal control documentation and support a robust financial reporting environment.
  • • Manage the integration of newly acquired businesses into the organization's consolidation, accounting and reporting framework.
  • • Partner with business and finance teams to meet consolidation system requirements, resolve reporting issues and ensure timely delivery of financial information.
  • • Coordinate external audit activities by responding to auditor requests and ensuring completeness and accuracy of supporting documentation.
  • • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the consolidation function, identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls, reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on strategic projects, system improvements and organization-wide financial initiatives.
  • • Provide leadership, mentorship and performance management to team members, fostering a collaborative, high-performance and development-focused environment.
  • • Support the Vice-President, Finance, in financial reporting, technical accounting matters, strategic initiatives and other finance-related activities.
  • • Perform financial analyses, research and special projects to support business decision-making and organization objectives.
  • • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, corporate policies and reporting requirements, while maintaining high standards of accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
  • • Act as a subject matter expert on consolidation processes, providing guidance and recommendations to stakeholders across the organization. Qualifications The ideal candidate is a Canadian CPA who brings a strong background in financial reporting, consolidations, and complex accounting within sophisticated large organizations. You possess a minimum of eight years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with at least three years in a management role, and ideally, you have developed your technical expertise through a past in a Big Four public accounting firm. The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of IFRS and experience working in a public company or complex reporting environment. Manager or senior manager level experience is essential, as is demonstrated expertise in consolidations and multiple entity reporting structures. The right candidate will be highly analytical, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You are an effective communicator with strong relationship-building skills and a proven ability to collaborate with business leaders, financial teams, and external auditors. A confident team leader, you have a track record of coaching and developing teams while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Experience with consolidation and reporting platforms such as OneStream, Cognos Controller, Hyperion Financial Management, or similar systems, as well as advanced expertise in Excel and financial systems, will support success in this role.

Additional Requirements

  • • CPA designation required.
  • • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance.
  • • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience.
  • • Strong expertise in IFRS and financial reporting.
  • • Experience with consolidation and multiple entity reporting.
