
Regional Manager, Operations and Support, Trust Services, Private Wealth Management
The work location may be in Montréal, Ottawa, Waterloo, Vaughan, London or Halifax.
The Regional Manager, Operations and Support, Trust Services, has pan-regional responsibilities and provides leadership and operational oversight of the support professionals serving Trust Services in the Greater Ontario and Atlantic (GOA) region and the Quebec region.
Reporting to the Regional Director, Trust Services, the Regional Manager, Operations and Support, leads, coaches and develops the professional support team for Trust Services and helps ensure the consistent delivery of fast, accurate and high-quality support to trust managers, internal business partners and clients.
This role supports the achievement of the business objectives of Trust Company of the GOA and Quebec regions by building team capability, managing capacity and workflows, improving processes, strengthening risk management and compliance practices, and enabling an integrated and highly impactful client experience.
The Regional Manager, Operations and Support also contributes to the strategy of Trust Company of the GOA and Quebec regions, business planning, revenue growth, employee engagement and the ongoing evolution of the regional business.
The Regional Manager, Operations and Support plays a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the GOA and Quebec trust teams, ensuring that processes are carried out efficiently, consistently and in accordance with regulatory and internal compliance requirements. By working closely with trust managers, trust associates and the national office, this role helps maintain operational excellence, supports risk management practices and fosters the continuous improvement of team workflows.
Key responsibilities
- Supports and reports to the Regional Director, Trust Services
- Provides daily support to trust administration professionals

- Assists in developing strategic plans.
- Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making on operational matters.
- Coordinates and carries out specific activities for the implementation of strategic initiatives; includes monitoring indicators and milestones.
- Coordinates database management; ensures data alignment and integration in accordance with data governance standards.
- Monitors and tracks the performance of fiduciary services support professionals and resolves any issues.
- Designs and produces regular and ad hoc reports.
- Ensures the effective implementation of the Bank's initiatives and programs.
- Embodies a mindset of continuous development and advocates alternatives.
- Develops change management plans of varying scope and type; leads or participates in various change management activities, including readiness assessment, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation and sustainment of initiatives.
- Leads or participates in defining the communication plan designed to positively influence or change behaviour.
- Prepares documentation of compliance monitoring and risk assessments, as well as findings for management in accordance with guidelines.
- Performs administrative reviews and filings in accordance with the Bank's policies and procedures.
- Leads the execution of operational programs; evaluates and adapts as needed to ensure quality of execution.
- Acts as an expert in business applications and systems.
- Monitors operational controls to identify any gaps and supports the initiation of appropriate corrective actions to ensure controls are adequate.
- Identifies and analyzes factors that may affect market risk mitigation and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements
- Monitors to ensure offices comply with regulations and internal/external compliance requirements.
- Contributes to the planning and implementation of operational programs.
- Performs work to deliver fast, accurate and efficient service.
- Recruits new candidates for the fiduciary services business line, in collaboration with the Regional Director, Fiduciary Services.
- Supports the mentoring of employees in training and supervises performance during and after their training period.
- Leads/participates in the design, implementation and management of core business or group processes.
- Identifies business needs, designs/develops training tools and programs; may include delivering training to internal teams.
- Carries out various operational activities to meet business objectives, client needs and maintain the overall level of service.
- Provides administrative/operational support, including financial and transactional processing and reporting, account processing and documentation, compliance processing and other related activities; ensures proper documentation and administration of decisions.
- Adheres to high-quality service standards to maximize retention and relationship growth.
- Identifies and raises all irregularities and discrepancies in management and compliance in accordance with guidelines.
- Applies risk management and compliance processes and policies to protect our clients' assets, safeguard their privacy, act in their best interest and ensure efficient operations.
- Protects the Bank's assets and complies with all regulatory, legal and ethical requirements.
- Works independently and regularly handles non-routine situations.
- Broader tasks or responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
- 25% travel required in the GOA and Quebec markets
Qualifications
- Typically 5 to 7 years of experience in estate administration and trust, along with a postsecondary diploma in a related field of study, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Experience in sales and service is an asset.
- Operational experience - In-depth.
- Supervisory/management experience is an asset.
- In-depth experience with estate and trust products and related technologies.
- In-depth knowledge of the estates and trusts field as well as technical mastery, acquired through the candidate's experience and education.
- Verbal and written communication skills – In-depth.

- Fluency in French is an asset.
- You speak French and English fluently, as this role provides support to clients and team members inside and/or outside the province of Quebec.
