Job description

As a temporary on-call delivery agent (also known as a mail carrier), you will represent Canada Post in your community and ensure that individuals and businesses receive the mail and packages they are waiting for.

Professional responsibilities

What will you do?

  • You will start your day at the mail depot to sort and prepare mail for delivery during the day.
  • You will need to load and drive a postal vehicle.

  • You will then spend most of the day outdoors delivering mail and packages to customers, on foot or in a vehicle.
  • You will then return to the mail depot to unload incoming mail and packages for later delivery.

Eligibility criteria

What skills do you need to have?

  • A valid class 5 or G driver's license with a good driving record for at least three years (driving record required).
  • The ability to lift mail items weighing up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry items weighing up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly throughout the day.
  • The ability to work in all types of weather conditions.
  • Be able to be on call.
  • Be able to read, write, and speak English or French.
