Cashier, key responsibilities

• Provide a high level of customer service at the store's checkout counter:
• Accurately record customer transactions on the electronic cash register, main network cash, and self-service cash.
• Maintain inventory replenishment in the checkout area.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and guidelines.
• Ensure the checkout work area is clean and organized.
• Ensure that best practices for loss prevention are followed.
• Comply with all policies when selling tobacco and lottery products.

Cashier, job requirements

Cashier, work schedule

Full-time: 35 to 40 hours per week. Day shifts, two evenings per week, and alternating weekends.

Part-time: up to 24 hours per week. Mix of day, evening, and weekend shifts.

In performing your duties, you can expect to:

• Stand and walk.
• Bend, turn, and crouch.
• Lift or move objects weighing up to 18 kg (40 lb).
• Perform tasks requiring firm grasping.
• Perform repetitive tasks requiring a range of hand movements.
• Stretch above shoulders and below waist.

The key holder premium is added in the following cases: opening and closing the store on time

Closing: produce cash register reports; ensure all sections are well-stocked; ensure all associates have completed their end-of-shift tasks; assume responsibility for store security, including locking and setting the alarm.

Opening: ensure the store is well-stocked and ready to receive customers, clean and well-organized; ensure associates are ready to open their areas for the work shift; open cash registers; unlock and deactivate the alarm; receive deliveries.
