Managed by the Amis de la Rivière-Blanche, the Parc de la Ferme-Dalton is a unique outdoor space in Gatineau thanks to its greenhouse, sugar bush, floral garden, agricultural production, and orchard supported by volunteers. We offer a range of free outdoor activities and are also an outdoor equipment lending point.
We are looking for an operations manager responsible for the maintenance and operation of the park who knows when to do the work themselves and when to invest to better maintain.
Your Mandate
Responsible alone for the maintenance of the park, you exercise strong leadership and perform horticulture and exterior and interior maintenance work. You establish your own priorities in collaboration with the general management. You are responsible for the maintenance budget. You make recommendations on safe working methods. More specifically, you:
- organize and execute tree, shrub, and flower planting and maintenance work in the park.
- Organize and execute cleaning and maintenance work in the park and in the buildings.
- Manage the maintenance and operations budget in collaboration with the general management.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety rules.
- Ensure the mobilization of the volunteer team and their training needs.
- Ensure the completion of minor repair work on the park's outdoor facilities and buildings
- support all public events in the park, such as maple syrup production, plant and seed sales, floral garden planting, outdoor skating rink installation, park lighting, and much more.
Your Profile
- College diploma (DEC) or college certificate (AEC) in horticulture, arboriculture, or a relevant field.
- Relevant experience in the field of horticulture, park maintenance, and sports fields.
- Experience in team supervision or coordination.
- Valid driver's license (class 5) and access to a vehicle.
- A security check with vulnerable persons will be carried out.
Your Skills

- Able to perform most of the park's maintenance work safely on their own.
- Who knows when to delegate.
- Able to explain observed situations to different audiences.
- Able to learn and respect maple syrup production practices.
Your Working Conditions
- Salary of $45,000 to $52,000 per year.
- 35 hours of work per week.
- On-site work at Parc de la Ferme-Dalton.

- A Monday to Friday work schedule that may vary according to activities, i.e., weekends or evenings.
