Estimator

As part of its growth, Groupe Raymond wishes to strengthen its estimation team by welcoming an experienced estimator in building envelope.

The selected person will participate in the complete estimation process of large-scale construction projects located mainly in the Montreal region, in the Grand Nord, and in Eastern Canada. However, the position does not require travel.

In collaboration with the estimation and project management teams, you will be responsible for:

• Analyzing plans, bids, and tender documents;
• Conducting quantity surveys;
• Evaluating costs related to materials, labor, and equipment;
• Preparing detailed estimates and bids;
• Communicating with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain required prices;
• Verifying the compliance of proposals with plans, specifications, and applicable regulations;
• Monitoring market trends and material price fluctuations;
• Closely collaborating with project management teams;
• Participating in project kickoff meetings;
• Ensuring rigorous follow-up of bid deadlines.

Profile sought

• Minimum of four to five years of experience in estimating construction projects in Canada;
• Significant experience in building envelope, exterior cladding, or a related field;
• Training in architecture, estimation, building design, or any other relevant combination of training and experience;
• Excellent ability to read and interpret plans and bids;
• Good mastery of the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook;
• Mastery of French and English;
• Knowledge of the Quebec and Canadian construction market.

Mastery of English is necessary since the person will have to work on bilingual projects and communicate with an Anglophone clientele, suppliers, and partners.
